He became chief of tribe after his father died

1960 Sharpville massacre of 63 black changed the political climate.
1962,Mandela has been arrested and sentenced to Island Robben Prison
 1990 he was released from prison.
He lost his eldest son in HIV


Achievements
Finished his degree and qualified as a lawyer

1952  built the first Black Law Firm
During prison he helped other people keep spirits high
1994-1999   he was inaugurated as the first democratically elected President of South Africa
1993  was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize
